Two men were shot and wounded by gang members seeking to retaliate for an earlier gang fight, police said Monday.

The victims, identified as Jose Quevedo Rodriguez, 21, of San Diego and Pedro Gaspar, 18, of Anaheim, underwent surgery at local hospitals after Sunday’s 10:20 p.m. incident, police said. Their conditions were not released.

According to a police statement on the incident, two gangs had had a brawl earlier in the day in the 1100 block of North Citron Street, and several gang members returned to the area in the evening to “retaliate against the Citron Street residents.”
