Bradley Leads by 4 Shots, but Rain Puts a Victory on Hold for a Day
Pat Bradley’s march toward the 28th victory of her career was interrupted when stormy weather halted play Monday in the LPGA Rail Charity Classic.
Bradley, with a four-stroke lead and riding a string of three consecutive birdies that got her to 17 under par, had six holes left when play was suspended until today.
Laura Davies and Meg Mallon are four shots back and Danielle Ammaccapane trails by five.
Players endured an earlier two-hour delay and another stoppage of play because of lightning.
Bradley began the day tied for the lead with Davies and built a one-shot advantage after the front nine. Bradley, the season and career money leader, began to widen her lead when play resumed after the rain delay, getting birdies on Nos. 10, 11 and 12.
A victory would leave her two shy of the number needed for membership in the LPGA Hall of Fame.
