Stuttering Stereotypes: The National Stuttering Project isn’t happy about the thriller “Dead Again.” The group’s chairman, Ira Zimmerman, sent a letter to producer Sydney Pollack and director-star Kenneth Branagh, saying that “we who are truly handicapped by a chronic stutter are sick and tired of thoughtless Hollywood films that keep exploiting the public’s ignorance about the speech disorder of stuttering.” A key element of the mystery involves a character who stutters.
