Operatic Radio: KCRW-FM (89.9) will air the opera “The Death of Klinghoffer” today beginning at 9 a.m. The broadcast will be of a recording made at the world premiere in March in Brussels. The John Adams-Alice Goodman opera, directed by Peter Sellars with choreography by Mark Morris, will have its U.S. premiere at New York’s Brooklyn Academy of Music tonight. The opera is based on the 1985 Palestinian hijacking of the Italian liner Achille Lauro and the killing of passenger Leon Klinghoffer.
