Wisconsin received the biggest share of the 1991 NCAA basketball tournament TV revenue--$409,811--even though it hasn’t appeared in the tournament since 1947. The amount was based on the number of sports and scholarships the school offers.
Ohio State got $398,266, the second-largest award. Seven schools in the Big Ten got more than $300,000.
Four Atlantic Coast Conference schools--North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia and Maryland--also got more than $300,000. National champion Duke took home $213,145. Runner-up Kansas was paid $184,439.
