Longer Bank Merger Review Sought: Two community groups have asked for an extension on the public review period for the proposed merger of C&S;/Sovran Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., and Atlanta-based NCNB Corp. into the nation’s fourth-largest bank that would be called NationsBank. They say they want to study its impact on poor people. Washington-based Assn. of Community Organizations for Reform Now and the Charlotte Organizing Project of North Carolina have asked the Federal Reserve Bank to extend the review period from 30 to 60 days.
