* Curt Gunther; Photographer Recorded Beatles’ Tour
Curt Gunther, 68, whose photographs appeared in Time, Newsweek, People, Life and TV Guide magazines and who was chosen by the Beatles to accompany them on their 1964 American tour. His photographic account of that famous journey, “Beatles ‘64: A Hard Day’s Night in America” was published in 1989 on the 25th anniversary of the tour. Gunther also was known for his portraits of celebrities, including Joe Louis, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and the Kennedy family. In New York City on Friday of a heart attack.
