* Jody Napuunoa of Damien rushed for 123 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and Damien defeated Downey, 21-15, in a nonleague game.

* Reggie Ethridge of Cabrillo rushed for 149 yards in 19 carries as Cabrillo defeated visiting Carpenteria, 27-12. Ethridge scored touchdowns on a 75-yard punt return and an 89-yard kick off return.
