Claremont : $169,650 From Drug Raid
The Claremont Police Department has received $169,650 as its share of assets seized in a drug raid in a Sylmar warehouse last year.
Almost 20 tons of cocaine, worth up to $6 billion on the street, and $10 million in cash were seized in the raid Sept. 28.
Claremont received a portion of the money because it assisted as part of L.A. Impact, a regional drug enforcement task force involving 10 San Gabriel Valley cities. The effort has resulted in nearly 100 arrests.
A Claremont detective has been on the task force since January, 1990. The city had received about $200,000 in assets previously.
