Girl Critically Hurt When Car Strikes Bike

HUNTINGTON BEACH — A 7-year-old girl was struck by a car Monday evening as she rode her bike onto the street from her driveway, police said.
The victim, identified as Jennifer Saar, was airlifted to UCI Medical Center in Orange where she remained in critical condition Monday night, according to the Huntington Beach Fire Department.
The accident occurred at 6:22 p.m. when the girl rode her bike from her driveway in the 8700 block of Dolphin Drive into the path of an oncoming car, said a police night watch commander.
The driver was not at fault, police said.
