Mark Your Calendar: Twentieth Century Fox announced Wednesday that “Alien 3,” starring Sigourney Weaver, will open May 22, 1992, to take advantage of the Memorial Day weekend. Tom Sherak, executive vice president, Twentieth Century Fox,noted that the second “Aliens” film was “a phenomenal success” in the summer of 1986, so “there’s no better way to launch summer 1992 than with this latest chapter in the series.” Weaver reprises her role as Warrant Officer Ripley, who is stranded on a remote penal colony.
