FULLERTON : City Seeks Residents to Serve on Panels

The City Council is seeking residents to fill vacancies on seven advisory committees and commissions.

The city has four openings on the Community Development Citizens Committee, which provides input on the city’s Community Development Block Grant program.

Two slots are open on the Community Services Commission, which advises council members on planning and development of all park, recreation, human service, cultural and fine arts programs in the city.

The Energy and Resource Management Committee has four unfilled spots.

The Library Board of Trustees also has two slots to fill.

Two spots are open on the Planning Commission, which makes recommendations on all development matters within the city.

The Central Fullerton Redevelopment Project Area Committee also has two openings to advise the council on the downtown commercial belt on Harbor Boulevard from Orangethorpe Avenue to Brea Boulevard. Applicants for that committee need not be Fullerton residents, but must own property or a business in the city.

The Redevelopment Design Review Committee has one opening to advise the Planning Commission on architecture, site designs, signs and landscaping.

Applications can be picked up at the City Council office on the first floor of the Fullerton Civic Center, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave. Deadline for returning applications is Oct. 4.
