ART
Marilyn on View: Photographer David Conover’s first professional modeling shots of then aspiring actress Marilyn Monroe go on display tonight at the Circle Gallery in Beverly Hills. Conover took his pictures in 1945 when Monroe was working at Radioplane Corp. in El Segundo and he was shooting morale-boosting pictures of “women back home” working for the war effort. The exhibit also includes the last photos of Monroe, taken by George Barris, plus other Monroe depictions by Milton Greene, Bert Stern and Yvaral. The exhibition, which opens to the public Wednesday following tonight’s invitation-only premiere, runs through Oct. 9. The showing will raise funds for Variety--The Children’s Charity of Southern California.
