Rams Outdraw Dodgers on TV

While the Dodgers were playing perhaps their most important game of the season and the Rams were involved in the fourth game of a 16-game NFL schedule Sunday, about 140,000 more households were tuned to football than baseball.

The Rams’ 27-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on KCBS Channel 2 was seen in about 648,000 households, according to figures released Monday by the A.C. Nielsen Co. The Dodgers’ 3-0 win over the Atlanta Braves, which ran opposite the Rams on KTTV Channel 11, drew about 507,000 households.

Both the Rams and Dodgers trailed the Raiders, whose 21-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons earlier Sunday on KNBC Channel 4 was the day’s most-watched sporting event, with 692,000 households. The Angels’ 4-2 win over the Chicago White Sox was the least-watched event with an average of about 39,000 homes on KTLA Channel 5. But from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m., fewer then 9,750 households were tuned in to KTLA, meaning a rating could not be measured for that period.
