2 Area Firms Among Best for Working Parents
Patagonia in Ventura and GT Water Products in Moorpark were among 85 companies selected by Working Mother magazine as the nation’s best companies for working parents.
The magazine’s annual ranking is based on criteria such as advancement opportunities for women, child-care support, job-protected maternity leave and flexible work scheduling. The magazine didn’t rank the 85 companies from best to worst, but included Patagonia among 10 that were given particular praise because of their high scores in these categories.
Patagonia, a maker of outdoor clothing with sales of $107 million last year, is the principal unit of Lost Arrow Corp. in Ventura. GT Water Products, with annual sales of about $3.5 million, makes plumbing supplies.
