First Interstate Revamping Continues: The Los Angeles bank said that its Northwest operations are being reorganized. The presidents’ positions in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho and Montana are being replaced by a management committee in Portland that will be headed by executive James C. Curran. John Dean, president of First Interstate Bank of Washington, is leaving the bank. Dean said he is leaving because the responsibilities of the job are changing and because he wants to seek other opportunities.
