A 21-year-old baby-sitter was arrested Friday in connection with the death of an unidentified infant in her care.

Karen Amy Drouillard of the 200 block of Chambers Street was arrested at her home by El Cajon police at 6:40 p.m. Friday, according to a report by Sgt. Greg Robinson.

She was taken to the Las Colinas Jail in Santee and faces charges of homicide, felony child abuse and corporal punishment.

Drouillard was arrested after a coroner’s autopsy revealed a scull fracture to be the cause of the infant’s death, Robinson reported. The child has not been identified by police.

The child died Monday at Grossmont Hospital after police responded to a 911 emergency call of an infant not breathing at a residence in the 200 block of Chamber Street at about 2:30 p.m.

When El Cajon police and fire personnel arrived, the infant still was not breathing, and paramedics attempted to revive the child with CPR. The child was taken to Grossmont Hospital and died a short time later.
