PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : University Defense Stymies Falcons
Jerry Apana rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Chris Peake passed for two others to lead University to a 35-21 nonleague victory over Santa Ana Valley on Saturday night at Santa Ana Stadium.
The Trojans improved to 2-1 with a defense that shut down the Falcons in the first half, forcing four turnovers and limiting them to only nine offensive plays.
Santa Ana Valley (0-3) rallied in the fourth quarter. James Barclay scored on runs of 39 and 30 yards and quarterback Armando Cueva closed the scoring with a 30-yard run late in the game.
