Students Are the Losers

Share

San Fernando Valley teachers are being fired by the school district, often with very little notice. These are real people losing their jobs, not just numbers, and directly in the line of fire are our kids.

Students at Nobel Junior High School in Northridge sometimes do not have enough desks due to the increase in class sizes. Physical education teachers have more than 50 students in their classes. There are not enough books to go around, and students have not received texts yet in some classes. Air conditioning is not working in many rooms and trailers.

It is difficult to learn algebra when there are more than 40 pupils in the class. Our children’s education should be our top priority. Keep our teachers, and let the administrators figure out how to pay them. Surely this can be figured out before the winter break.
