HUNTINGTON BEACH : 2 Housing Advocates Appointed to Panel

Share

The City Council this week appointed the final two members to a new advisory board that will help the city forge an affordable housing policy.

The council on Monday unanimously agreed to add Dean Allison, a civil engineer and low-income housing advocate, and John Hambuch, an Orange County Housing Authority official, to the Affordable Housing Task Force.

The panel originally had been planned to include nine members, but the council decided to expand it to include two housing advocates.

The other members of the task force include two members each from the City Council and Planning Commission, along with five representatives from the local development industry.

Council members created the panel to help guide them in forming a definitive policy to attract more housing units for low- and moderate-income residents. All California cities are required to submit an affordable housing strategy to the state by 1994.
