PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Faryniarz May Go on Injured Reserve

The injury to linebacker Brett Faryniarz’s left knee is more serious than thought, and the Rams said he will be sidelined two to four weeks and may be put on the injured reserve list.

Faryniarz’s injury, diagnosed as a partially torn medial collateral ligament, was suffered in last Sunday’s 23-21 defeat of the Green Bay Packers. Coach John Robinson said a decision on his status will be made later this week.

With Faryniarz hurt and starting left side linebacker Fred Strickland still not at full speed, the Rams’ only sound outside linebackers are rookie Roman Phifer and Paul Butcher.
