Baldwin Park : Hilton Hotel Changes Name

The Baldwin Park Hilton, which is in reorganization under federal bankruptcy laws, is changing its name, hotel General Manager Steve Sametz told the City Council on Wednesday.

The hotel, which opened next to the San Bernardino Freeway in June, 1989, will now be called the San Gabriel Valley Hilton. Sametz said the new name will better identify the hotel’s location for out-of-state customers.

Because the city’s Redevelopment Agency is involved in litigation with the hotel, City Atty. Robert Bower advised council members Wednesday not to comment on Sametz’s announcement.
