Leuzinger Gets Interim Principal
Centinela Valley Union High School District trustees have appointed Derek Harrison interim principal of Leuzinger High School in Lawndale while they search for a permanent principal.
Harrison, whose appointment became effective Wednesday, joined the district last month as associate principal at Leuzinger High. Previously, he was dean of students for the Huntington Beach Unified School District.
Harrison replaces Daryl Hamilton, a district administrator who in August began filling in as temporary principal at Leuzinger after Principal Sonja Davis was transferred to Centinela Valley Adult School as principal. Hamilton will resume his duties as principal of R. K. Lloyde Continuation School.
Davis, who says the transfer is a demotion, is challenging it.
