WATER DELIVERY CHANGES

Share

During fiscal year 1989-90, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California delivered nearly 700,000 acre feet of water to Orange County member agencies. That was an increase of 8% from the year before.

The MWD is a public agency that provides water to agencies throughout Southern California, from Oxnard to the Mexican border. In Orange County there are five members: the cities of Anaheim, Fullerton and Santa Ana; the Coastal MWD (which covers the county oceanfront areas from Huntington Beach to the San Diego County line), and the Orange County Municipal Water District, which serves the rest of the county.

Among these five local agencies, changes from 1988-89 to 1989-90 varied greatly. For example, while the Coastal MWD deliveries increased 14%, those to the city of Fullerton dropped 2%.
