Tour Masters will take mature travelers on a nine-day motor coach and rail tour to Mexico’s Copper Canyon for $859 per person, double occupancy, beginning Oct. 30.

Participants will leave Los Angeles by motor coach for Los Mochis/El Fuerte, Mexico, where they will board the train for the Copper Canyon part of the trip. After two days on the train, a motor coach will pick up the group in Creel, Mexico, for the return trip to Los Angeles. Overnights in the Copper Canyon area are in hotels along the way.

Tour Masters, which has been offering mature travelers moderately priced tours for about 10 years, will also stop in Tucson, El Paso and Phoenix. One of the trip features will be a Green Angels vehicle that will escort the motor coach while it is in Mexico and also provide emergency services.

The firm still offers its popular “Jeep Adventures” to the desert, canyons and mountains, but recently added open-air trolley tours for general sightseeing, shopping trips, Indian canyon visits and local attractions such as the Palm Springs Aerial Tram. Seniors 60 and older get $3 to $5 off regular prices.

In addition, the company is offering 30 other “Desert Adventures,” including covered-wagon rides, hot-air ballooning, trail rides, hiking and biking tours.

One of the Desert Adventure programs is a “Tour de Jour” by motor coach or open-air trolley every day to local attractions.

These adventures, with walking at a minimum, average four hours and cost $20 to $30 per person. Some include lunch, beverage or a snack. Tours leave at 12:30 p.m., with pickups at the Palm Springs Village Green and Town Center Mall.

The firm’s daily tours include trips to the canyons of the Agua Caliente Indians, the aerial tram, celebrity homes, resort hotels and shopping at factory outlets outside Cabazon or a street fair held every Thursday night on Palm Canyon Drive. Also, travelers will be taken shopping at Hadley’s or the Cahuilla Indian Trading Post.

Desert Adventures is also offering a special senior rate for a “Thanksgiving Adventure” Nov. 21 in one of the Indian canyons. Along with turkey and all the trimmings, there will be entertainment by Indian dancers and country and Western groups, nature walks and covered-wagon rides.
