CLIPBOARD : Child Abuse Report

The number of children either abused or at risk of being abused jumped 20% during the first eight months of 1991 over the same period last year, according to the Orange County Child Abuse Registry. During the January-August period, 22,925 children were either abused or in danger of it. The 3,623 reported for Anaheim is the highest number of cases for any single city. Stanton, Tustin and Anaheim showed the highest rate per 1,000 residents--all 13.0 or higher, far in excess of the countywide rate of 9.3.
