SEAL BEACH : Hearing to Focus on Rockwell Helipad
The City Council tonight will hold a public hearing on a request by Rockwell International to move its helipad.
The change is in response to complaints from nearby Leisure World residents, who petitioned local, state and federal officials last fall asking them to urge Rockwell to move the landing pad.
More than 600 people signed the petition asking Rockwell to relocate the pad, which faces apartments for seniors along Westminster Avenue.
Officials have been working out an agreement since then that will move the helicopter landing pad to the other side of the adjacent Rockwell building to reduce noise, City Manager Jerry Bankston said.
