Peru Guerrillas Kill 8

HUANTA, Peru —
About 80 Sendero Luminoso guerrillas raided a village near Huanta and killed eight members of its self-defense militia, officials said Tuesday. More than 23,000 people have died since Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) took up arms against the government in 1980.
