Simply Change Name to Beverly Hills
I read the article Sept. 26 in the Valley section of The Times describing a drive-by shooting in the “new” Sherman Oaks section at Sepulveda and Burbank boulevards.
Now that the former Van Nuys residents, who hoped to divest themselves of the stigma associated with living in Van Nuys, find that the gangbangers have no respect for their new community name, they are faced with a real dilemma.
To the best of my knowledge, Beverly Hills is still a community unaffected by gang violence. I suggest the “new” Sherman Oaks residents change their community name to Beverly Hills as soon as possible before violence strikes them again.
