Grand Juror Quits, Citing Work Needs

Share

A member of the Ventura County Grand Jury has resigned from the panel because it is interfering with his work, a spokeswoman for Superior and Municipal courts said this week.

Richard Day, 61, of Oxnard said his business required more time than he had thought it would, said Betty Kane, jury services manager.

Day, who resigned Tuesday, had been selected in July.

He will be replaced by Roy Furr, 66, of Oxnard, Kane said.

The 19-member grand jury is a group of residents who receive accusations of crime, hear the state’s evidence and investigate wrongdoing in local government.
