WESTLAKE : Fast-Food Outlet Cited for Violations

Share

A fast-food chicken outlet in Westlake was cited for 27 health-code violations and closed last month for four days because of cockroach infestation, a county official said this week.

An inspector for the Environmental Health Department ordered Pioneer Chicken in the 2800 block of Agoura Road closed Sept. 9 after finding countless cockroaches in its kitchen and nearby areas, said Elizabeth Huff, the county’s restaurant inspections coordinator.

The other violations included failure to properly dispose of garbage and to clean trash bins, to repair shelves and leaking faucets, to maintain hand soap and paper towel dispensers and to keep thermometers in a refrigerator and walk-in freezer, Huff said.

Huff said the restaurant was allowed to reopen Sept. 14 after extermination of the cockroaches.
