Thousands Homeless, 12 Dead in Mexico Storms

MEXICO CITY —
Torrential rains battering Mexico for the past 10 days have left at least 12 people dead and more than 22,000 homeless, and have caused widespread crop damage, the government newspaper El Nacional said Saturday.
It said the rains had inflicted serious damage on an estimated 500,000 acres of crops.
