New Kuwaiti Well Starts Producing: Oil Minister Hamoud Abdulla al-Raqba said Kuwait has started pumping crude from a new well drilled to replace some of those burned or damaged by Iraqi troops. The first new well started producing Saturday in the Maqwa field, he said. Kuwait started drilling the wells last month. The oil minister said Thursday that 10% of the 732 oil wells set afire or damaged by the retreating Iraqis will be filled with cement and declared unproductive.
