Pollution Research & Control Corp., a Glendale company that makes pollution measurement equipment, reported a profit for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, after a year-earlier loss.
Pollution Research’s $186,000 third-quarter profit was on sales of $2.51 million. In the third quarter of 1990, the company lost $169,000 on $630,000 in sales.
In the nine months that ended Sept. 30, Pollution Research earned $473,000, while sales rose 55% to $5.08 million. In the year earlier period, the company lost $1.31 million on $3.28 million in sales.
Pollution Research attributed the turnaround to the sale of unprofitable units and to improved marketing and production operations.
