COLLEGE FOOTBALL: DAILY REPORT : USC : Cougars Are Unimpressed
For the second year in a row, two USC backs ran for more than 100 yards against Washington State, but neither Mazio Royster nor Deon Strother seemed to impress the Cougars.
“Neither one was very fast,” safety Anthony Prior told Spokane, Wash., reporters after Saturday’s 34-27 victory by USC. “They didn’t have any explosive speed or anything.”
How about the Trojans’ offensive line?
“The two best lines we’ve faced have been Ohio State and Oregon State,” Cougar defensive tackle Chris Frank said. “They both had disciplined lines. These guys had a lot of free-lance characters.”
Of the Trojans in general, Washington State linebacker Anthony McClanahan said: “To me, they didn’t look like SC at all. They usually come out and wear people down and make them want to go home--leave their own field. You’re not seeing that anymore.”
