HUNGER PAINS: No one knows how many children in Orange County are at risk of hunger, but the rising number of families receiving federal checks and food stamp aid is one indicator. . . . Yet food stamps may not fully meet an AFDC family’s monthly needs, says local manager Sandi Harrison.
