Texas Instruments Wins Patent Round: Dallas-based Texas Instruments Inc. said the U.S. International Trade Commission has made a preliminary finding that five companies are infringing on its “bottom-gating” semiconductor technology. The companies are VLSI Technology Inc., LSI Logic Corp., Integrated Device Technology Inc., Cypress Semiconductor Corp. and Analog Devices Inc. The commission must now decide whether to recommend that President Bush sign an exclusion order preventing the five companies from importing and selling any integrated circuit with bottom-gating technology.
