Mazda Recalls 1989 MPVs: Mazda recalled all 33,540 of its 1989 MPV multi-use vehicles because of a lockup problem with the rear brakes. It said that on certain models manufactured between July, 1988, and June, 1989, the rear brakes may become susceptible to lockup as the rear shoes wear. “This rear brake lockup could cause a loss of vehicle stability under certain road conditions,” Mazda said.
