New Coliseum Plan Isn’t Going to Work
I am responding to Lt. Alan Kerstein’s letter of Oct. 5 in which he states that the Coliseum is a safe place to take your family. I say he is wrong, dead wrong. He refers to the fans’ drinking, fighting and rowdyism that has abated during the game. He does not write about the safety of the fans after the game.
I have had my car stolen, been mugged twice, once at the point of a knife, another by a gang of teen-agers.
I told an officer nearby about the muggings and all he did was suggest I go to the police station and file a report. I am only one of the many fans that get mugged after the games, mostly at night.
I say the only place to watch a Coliseum game is in the comfort of my easy chair in front of the TV.
