High School Out of Control

Share

Infuriated is the only word to describe the way I felt after reading about the riot Sept. 30 at Chatsworth High School. As a former Chatsworth student (1988-1990), I am disgusted to see such violence at what is considered one of the best high schools in the West Valley.

I am shocked by the obvious lack of campus security. Why were school administrators not able to control their students? How could they stand back and watch the situation explode? Why did an incident of this magnitude occur on the campus that Principal Donna Smith refers to as “basically a neutral kind of school?”

It appears that I left Chatsworth High School just in time.
