Allen’s 30-yard touchdown pass to Ron Dickerson and Price’s 18-yard run gave Arkansas a 14-0 lead.

Texas kept the Razorbacks in a hole throughout the second half and had a chance to tie with 10:18 left, but Jason Ziegler was wide right on an extra-point attempt following Phil Brown’s 55-yard touchdown run.

The Longhorns drove to the Arkansas 27 in the fourth quarter, but Jason Post missed a 39-yard field-goal attempt with 3:45 left.

Brown, who gained 114 yards in 13 carries, beat an Arkansas blitz for 14 yards and the Longhorns’ first touchdown. That run completed a 59-yard drive.

Arkansas won despite getting only five first downs and 79 yards in the second half.

The Razorbacks started from their own 20, 20, 11, six, 11 and 22 in the second half.

No. 19 Texas A&M; 34, No. 16 Baylor 12--Texas A&M; quarterback Bucky Richardson ran for two touchdowns, passed for 182 yards and caught a pass that put the Aggies in position for another touchdown in an SWC game at Waco, Tex.

Richardson also rushed for 42 yards in seven carries for the Aggies (4-1, 2-0).

It was the worst home defeat for Baylor (5-2, 2-2) since a 41-3 loss to Arkansas in 1975.

The Texas A&M; defense sacked Baylor quarterback J.J. Joe six times, intercepted a pass, and caused Joe to lose a fumble.

Richardson scored twice and his passing set up the other A&M; scores as the Aggies shocked the Floyd Casey Stadium crowd of 50,267 by rolling to a 27-0 halftime lead.

After Terry Venetoulias kicked a 28-yard field goal, Richardson took the Aggies on an 82-yard drive in 15 plays, getting the touchdown himself from a yard out on fourth down.

Baylor’s Jeff Ireland missed a 45-yard field goal and Richardson quickly completed passes of 17 and 47 yards to Brian Mitchell. Once again Richardson finished the drive with a one-yard scoring run.

Texas Christian 39, Rice 28--Texas Christian scored 26 consecutive points in the second half for the SWC victory at Houston.

Trevor Cobb of Rice (3-3, 1-2), who entered the game as the nation’s leading rusher averaging 178 yards a game, had a 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter but was held to 121 yards in 33 carries.

Houston 49, Southern Methodist 20--With David Klingler out with an ear infection, the Cougars rolled to the SWC victory using a three-quarterback rotation.

Houston Coach John Jenkins rotated Donald Douglas, Jimmy Klingler and Chandler Evans on each play in the first half.

Donald Douglas, a transfer from Florida where he had started four games, remained in the game in the second half and engineered the runaway victory.

Douglas completed 19 of 28 passes for 319 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 103 yards in 16 carries for the Cougars (2-4, 1-2), who had not won since beating Louisiana Tech, 73-3, in their season-opener.
