Oxnard police said Sunday they have few details surrounding the death of a 23-year-old man who was found in his car with a bullet wound in his head.
Julian Roque Perez died at 11:17 p.m. Saturday at Ventura County Medical Center, where he was taken after he was shot earlier that day, Deputy Coroner Jim Wingate said.
Wingate said Perez was a resident of Fresno who was working in Oxnard.
Perez was found slumped in a red sports car in a business district at Cooper Road and Hayes Avenue in La Colonia. A window on the driver’s side of the car was shattered, authorities said. Police Sgt. Ken Nishihara said police had no other details about the death. Witnesses are being asked to contact homicide Detectives Dan Christian and Tim Combs.
