COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Donahue Kicking About Punting
Coach Terry Donahue is concerned about the inconsistency of the Bruins’ punting game this season.
Darren Schager replaced Courtney Keyler against Oregon State last Saturday night and averaged 37.5 yards on two punts.
“Darren didn’t do too badly,” Donahue said. “He did what the punting game has been all season, a bad punt and then a good punt. There just hasn’t been any consistency to it.”
Donahue isn’t sure who will be the punter in Saturday’s game against Arizona State at Tempe, Ariz.
“Courtney is very disappointed about his performance this season,” Donahue said. “But he’s determined about trying to regain his punting form.”
Keyler, who averaged 40.1 yards a punt last year, is averaging 39.9 yards this season.
