Mazda Warns ’91 Navajo Owners: Mazda Motor Corp. said it is warning owners of nearly 8,000 of its 1991 Navajo sport-utility vehicles that the transmission may not hold the vehicle when shifted into park, especially on an incline. The Navajo is built for Mazda by Ford Motor Co., which has issued a similar warning for owners of about 781,000 of its 1990 Aerostar vans and Ranger pickups and 1991 Aerostar vans and Explorer sport-utility vehicles. The companies are telling owners to be sure to apply parking brakes in addition to shifting into park. They said a solution was being developed and that owners would be notified by mail.
