Dozens of Police Guns Stolen in N. Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Dozens of guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition were stolen from the police academy here, where street guns are such a problem that a special committee was named recently to investigate.
Most of the weapons stolen late Wednesday or early Thursday are powerful and easily concealed handguns--10 to 12 9-millimeter pistols and about a dozen .40-caliber pistols.
