CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SACRAMENTO : Park Fees May Be Increased Again

The state park system is considering fee increases because of budget woes, 14 months after park visitors were hit with hefty fee hikes. The new increases were postponed from Oct. 1 to Nov. 1 and are being postponed again. The department’s 1991-92 budget was originally $175 million, up slightly from the $168 million of last year. But the budget passed by the Legislature in July assumes the department will increase revenues by $8 million to $13 million.
