Administration Cuts in Schools

The members of school board are sure to be deluged with letters of condolence by concerned citizens who read the article regarding school administrative cuts. According to school board President Warren Furutani, those poor, hard-working school board folks have had to give up their chauffeur-driven cars, for heaven’s sake.

The appalling thing is that he probably didn’t even blush as he made this statement. Our schools have been facing ever-increasing economic pressures for years, and our teachers are both undervalued and underpaid. If things have gotten so out of hand that chauffeur-driven cars are just now being eliminated, what other outrageous and wasteful expenditures have our board and administrators come to accept without question?
