With their postseason success, the Braves were able to cut three weeks off Otis Nixon’s suspension.
Nixon was suspended for 60 days by the commissioner’s office on Sept. 16 after testing positive for cocaine. Deputy commissioner Stephen Greenberg said Saturday that Atlanta’s postseason would count against the suspension, meaning Nixon would have to sit out only the first 18 days next season.
