Let’s Make a Deal: Actor Paul Reubens, whose alter ego is Pee-wee Herman, has been offered a plea bargain by prosecutors in Sarasota, Fla., that would leave him with no record of guilt on indecent exposure charges at an adult theater. His attorney called it “an offer that’s very difficult to refuse” and anticipated Reubens would accept it. Under the deal, Reubens would plead no contest and the state would not seek adjudication of guilt. Reubens would pay a $50 fine plus court costs and donate 50 hours of community service. The bargain followed a hearing during which a judge rejected a defense bid to have the misdemeanor case thrown out. Reubens’ attorneys contended that it’s wrong to charge anyone with sexual exposure in an adult theater because it’s a place where “nudity is necessarily expected.”
