Back to the ‘50s: Rancho Santa Margarita, one of Orange County’s newest communities, may soon have one of the county’s oldest-looking diners.

Daddy O’s, a 1950s-style diner, has signed a lease to build a new restaurant in the Mercado del Lago shopping center. The 10-year lease is valued at $720,000 and is the last tenant to be signed up for the center at Santa Margarita and Antonio parkways, according to its developer, SDC Investments of Newport Beach.

Daddy O’s, which also operates restaurants in Tustin and Dana Point, is expected to open the new diner in December.
